Aim of the module (expected learning outcomes and competencies to be acquired):
Students will familiarize with foundational and, in part, advanced academic research on management, organization, and entrepreneurship. The main aim is to encourage students to challenge presumably taken-for-granted assumptions and enable them to differentiate between valid knowledge and untenable positions.
Contents of the module:
Introduction to the academic system, journal rankings, journal missions and politics, paper styles, authors, and editors.
The main part of the seminar is dedicated to the presentation and discussion of up to 30 recent papers on current issues in management theory. The discussions will focus on developing interrelations, overlaps, and tensions between advanced theoretical ideas, and to develop a landscape of the focal field of research. This synthesis will provide a starting point for generating an interest in a potential question to elaborate further in the seminar paper.

Seminar; individual study for preparation and follow-ups
Special features (e.g. percentage of online-work, practice, guest speaker, etc.):
Sporadically complemented by "Landscape Seminar" guest lectures of internationally renowned scholars
