Dr. des. Philipp Dinkelaker
Dr. des. Philipp Dinkelaker was born in Berlin. He finished his Magister Artium in Modern History, Ancient History and Philosophy at Technical University Berlin (TUB) in 2013. While preparing a dissertation project, he organized the 20th Workshop on History and Memory of National Socialist Camps and Extermination Sites until 2015.
As a recipient of a stipend of Hans-Böckler-Stiftung and Stiftung Ettersberg Europäische Diktaturforschung und Aufarbeitung der SED-Diktatur, he was an external PhD at the Center for Research on Antisemitism at TUB from 2015 to 2022. During this time, he was a Fellow at Yad Vashem, Jerusalem; the Institut für Zeitgeschichte, München and the Vienna-Wiesenthal Institute and published several papers, a monograph and two collective volumes on the Holocaust and the Second World War.
In 2022, his dissertation Worse than the Gestapo? Berlin Jews Accused of Collaboration during and after the Shoah was evaluated summa cum laude and won the HiKo_21 Nachwuchspreis (emerging scholars prize) of the Historische Kommission zu Berlin e. V. in 2022. Since 2023, he has holds a position as researcher (Akademischer Mitarbeiter) at Europa-Universität Viadrina as part of the project “Law without Law”, dealing with the restitution of Holocaust era assets.
